Painted gates
Painted gates can really make a statement and add wow factor to your property. We recommend using a hardwood timber as painting softwood will not last anywhere near as long as a hardwood. Hardwood tends to be knot free. Softwood has many more knots which even when treated prior to painting can bleed through over time. A painted wooden gate should be inspected regularly to make sure there are no splits/cracks in the paint to allow moisture to seep in over time as this will damage the gate from the inside out. This is another reason we would strongly recommend using hardwood. Softwood is more prone to splitting. Also if a hardwood is used as even if moisture does manage to enter, the hardwood will be much more durable.
We can offer any colour and we recommend choosing from our ral-colour-chart or we have also had really good results using Farrow and Ball. If you have a colour not available on this chart please just ask and we’ll be happy to help. Using a good quality paint will prevent splits and cracks so we would not recommend using any cheaper products.
How to get a painted gate
You can find a guide and more information of how to paint your wooden gates by clicking here. However we appreciate that not everyone has the time or the space to paint their new wooden gates. Therefore we can offer the application service from as little as £60 depending on the size and style of gate.
Our online calculator can give you an instant quote for the gates and also the painting service or if you would rather discuss, please get in touch!
If you are looking for a more traditional natural look for your wooden gates we recommend using our superior gate oil. Please see examples of these in our main gallery.
See below a few example we have supplied and installed from all around the UK.
